Potential of wood from saline and dry lands for papermaking
Almost all water on earth is saline. 40% of
global land surface consists of dry lands. 15% of this area is salt-affected.
Several thousand salt-tolerant plant species are known. Their economic and
ecological value has hardly been utilized. We have investigated whether
these trees and plants have potential for pulping and paper- and
board making.
