EuroPress MasterPress: Papermachine Press Section Optimisation

The focus of this research project is on the pressing section of the papermachine. Several sub projects have been defined on the following themes:

• Setup of the pressing section including press felts

• Modelling of the press section

• Measuring and control

• Product quality

The research of Wageningen UR has been focussed on the relation between pulp quality and pressability of the pulp. This has been a limited part of the total project. The project is carried out in co-operation with Dutch papermills, universities and research institutes, suppliers and the Centre of Competence Paper and Board.
